Baby Bibs

I've been putting all the little, tiny baby clothes away in the closet and the dresser and just had to share pictures of these bibs. Obviously they won't be used for messy feedings, but we'll definitely have to get some pics of baby in them.

This is a bib my mom's friend made for me when I was a baby:

My mom made this bib a while back and has been saving for "whoever had a baby first." You'll have to ask her what that means :)

I've been working on this bib for a few years. At first I thought I might give it to a friend (but didn't have a particular friend in mind). Then, as I spent more and more time on it, I decided to keep it for our first. I finished it during my first trimester, trying to get my mind off of feeling so sick.

And, finally, a bib with Little Baby Ying's name on it. I finished this one just last week.

36 Weeks

Eek! Only one month left (or so). I can't believe the time has passed so quickly! We now have everything we need and almost everything we want for baby's arrival. Including...a name!!!!
I bought some wood letters to decorate for the baby's wall that will spell out her first name. Here's a picture of letters all mixed up. Can you figure out what her name is?

Baby's been sticking her feet under my ribs a lot recently (at least I think that's what's going on). But, only on the right side. I wonder what that means? My back has been really sore the past week or two as well (the back of my ribs). Maybe they're just being stretched out? So, I guess I'm getting into the less comfortable part of the third trimester. But, it's still lots and lots of fun to be pregnant and I'm still enjoying almost every minute of it.

Also, my bellybutton is officially an outie! You can see it sticking out through all of my shirts :)

We have all the furniture for the baby's room now. Big thanks to Kris for putting together the changing table and armoire this weekend. My goal for tomorrow is to get everything put away. But, there are lots of things in the laundry still. We bought a new washer and dryer last week, but it won't be delivered until May 6th. Hopefully it will be here before baby! Oh, and I already sold the old set on craigslist almost 2 weeks ago, so I need to make another trip to the laundrymat. We'll be sure to post pictures of the room once I've put everything away.

Last, but not least. A picture of me at 36 weeks.

Week 34

6 weeks left!

Ok, now I'm getting nervous! There are so many things we want to get done before baby arrives, I hope she doesn't come early. But, we'd better install the car seat and pack a hospital bag just in case.

I just had my 34 week doctor's appointment today and met the third of 5 doctors who may possibly deliver our baby. He was great. I'm hoping that if our doctor isn't available (which happens about half of the time, apparently), then we get this doctor. The appointment went well. I've gained a total of 21 pounds so far and am measuring right at 34 weeks. Baby had a heartbeat of 156 today. Perfect for the active little girl she was at the time. (Right now she just has the hiccups)

On Friday, Kris' co-workers threw us a baby shower. It was so amazing how many people were there to wish us well and how generous everyone was. Today, my goal is get everything organized. We don't have a dresser or changing table yet, so I can't put it all away; but, I can at least get an idea of what we have, what we still need, and where it's all going to go :)

One little update to the baby's room this week. There was a HUGE ceiling fan in the room that looked like this:

We (and by that, I mean Kris did most of the work...I just searched for dropped screws and handed him pieces as needed) replaced it with a smaller fan that matches the Dr. Seuss decor perfectly. And, I found it at Goodwill for only $10!

33 Weeks

The pregnancy book doesn't seem to have much to say any more about baby's development. She's growing... :)

This past weekend was absolutely beautiful here, so I insisted that we do something outside every day to enjoy the awesome weather. I tired Kris out and I'm sure I tired the baby out. Me? No more tired than normal, surprisingly enough. I did have to take lots of little breaks while we were hiking and had to ask Kris to slow down his speed-walking. We bought an annual pass to the Botanical Gardens on Saturday which also gets us into the Shaw Nature Reserve (close to us) and the Butterfly Garden. We decided these will be perfect places to bring baby; plus, Kris loves to take photographs at all three :) We'll see if we can make it to the Chinese Cultural Days at the gardens on May 15th...only one week from our due date...hm...

33 weeks marks the beginning of the 8th month!
And, here's a photo of my ever-growing belly (and a new maternity shirt! yeah!)
